Not quite resolutions

I've gone back and forth over the years on setting New Year's resolutions - from having a super long list that I've actually looked at later to track progress... to being too cool for them because 'no one sticks to them anyway.'  Turns out, I prefer to start the new year with a few goals.  Some serious and some silly, it makes me happy to just have a few things documented and try to hold myself accountable.  Here goes, my random list of goals and resolutions for 2012....

1) Run the half

2) Call Mom more

3) Be more organized

4) Practice yoga at least once per week

5) Stand up straight (hoping #4 will help with this one)

6) Go BLONDE(ish).  My stylist and I discussed this look, and I made my next appt for March to start the process :)

7) Shop Smarter

8) Be a better listener

9) Eat CLEAN food

10) Shop more flea markets and antique stores

11) Buy a dining room table

12) .... and chairs (currently liking these as one option)

13) Do more DIYs.  I'm excited about this because I already have a few planned.

14) Stress less

15) Buy my first pair of Louboutins. It's gotta happen.

Wishing everyone a healthiest and happiest 2012!!!

  1. I am SOOOOO with you on the Loubs! Yes you need to make that happen!

And yay on the blonde! It's so much fun being blonde. I've thought about going darker but I end up sticking with light hair every time.

  4. yes...i need a pair of loubs too!!! somehow i don't think that my husband will ever agree so i am going to file them on my "bucket list" instead of my 2012 list. i may be 80 years old by the time i get them, but at least i will own them golly gee damnit. pppppffffshhhh. love your list girl.

p.s. my hubby thinks it is funny to poke me in my back so i stand up straight...but i make a point to hunch even more and tuck my bootay in even more just to drive him nuts. it's real cute...lol =)

  5. This is a great list - very similar to some of mine (which will remain unpublished because I'm too afraid of people holding me accountable)! I don't know if I'll ever own a pair of Loubs...maybe I can paint the soles of my black pumps red and people will think they are...hahaha!

  7. i love this list! i think i'll just copy & paste ;)
i bought my first pair of Loubs a few years ago when my hubs and i were visiting friends in Charlotte. he left me alone all day while he was out playing golf. oopsie! of course, you could buy a pair back then for $495...not today my friend! so ridiculous, but what can you do as a shoe addict.
i'm going to go start the year off right and take my giant dog asleep in my lap for a run!

  9. I think you read my mind and then put what was in there on this list! LOL! We share similar goals! I have wanted to do the 1/2 marathon for a couple of years now. Maybe this is the year! :) Great blog!

  10. I love your list! I would never be brave enough to run even a quarter! You will never regret buying Louboutins, but you may not be able to stop your shoe shopping once you break that "threshold". Once I got started and made it okay in my mind to spend $500+ on shoes, it was all downhill from there. Manolos and Jimmy Choos look downright affordable next to Louboutins and it's not a huge leap from those to Balmain! Slippery slope indeed!
